Tower scan mission splitting

Post by amethiel » Sat May 04, 2019 1:01 am

Is there an easier way to split missions while planning flights for tower scans? That way we can estimate the number of flights, length of each flight and the coverage of each flight for one tower.

Hi amethiel,

You ask about "an easier way to split missions" - what do you have in mind, because I am not sure if I understand you correctly. I believe you refer to estimating how many battery swaps are necessary? In that case, here is what i can tell you about that:

We do not have yet a good way to estimate the number of flights ("battery swaps") required.

The reason is that this is quite a challenge: The DJI drone with the onboard flight controller is like a black box for us - we do not exactly know how long a battery will last on a specific mission. We have several ideas evolving around these aspects in our backlog:

https://ideas.droneharmony.com/ideas/DHPLANNER-I-190

So its something we want to improve upon but did not yet find the time for.

Best regards,
Martin
