Share plans between devices

It is possible to share plans between devices. Export the whole state (*.dhm file) and open that on another device with Drone Harmony. With the upcoming commercial release you will also be able to sync your flight plans to the cloud and they will become available automatically on another device if you log in with the same user.

Hello,
I enjoy dh, it's awsome.
I have saved some plans, did a search (memory + sd card), I can't find any .dhm file.
Thanks for your help

Hi jprn,

Saving plans in DH only stores them in the application memory. In order to get a .dhm file for storing on disk or sharing it, you have to use the Export State feature:

This will export everything that you have currently loaded (buildings & flight plans).

Hope this helps?
Best regards,
Martin

Doesn't work if I try to export to a removable sd card directory. Works if the directory is in internal memory, and only with X-plore as "copy to", other file managers are not recognized...
Next question : I copy the *.dhm file in a directory on the other device. How do I open it in DH ? I can only import KML or terrain...
DH is awsome, but... really needs a strong manual.

Not sure if I understand correctly. What does not work? When you click on Export State and you try to store the dhm file on the removable sd card?

You open the dhm file with any file explorer. Android Operating system has .dhm file registered with Drone Harmony and will offer you to open it with Drone Harmony. This will become easier once our web backend will provide you with the ability to sync your scenes & missions.

It's ok to store the dhm file on the removable sd card. When I click on export state, I get a list : email, Gmail, Skype, Drive, Dropbox and so on... but to store the dhm file in memory or external sd card, I get just 2 options, X-plore (that works), and "ES enregistrer sous" that says "cette opération n'est pas supportée"... On my Asus tablet and my redmi note 4 the native Asus and Xiaomi file explorers aren't shown.

Painfull to open the dhm as you explained, but I got it !

In order to simplify, why don't you use the save/load function to store only one dhm file (in a dedicated directory), that one can open, copy/cut/paste, mail, send to drive, dropbox... like any other file. Reserving the export function for waypoints or things like that (not specific to dh). No need of a web backend. Is it old fashioned ?

We have currently two ways of storing and loading missions. One is in the application memory (save & load) and the other is by exporting into a dhm file. People are usually not used to have data stored or shared on an android device. That's why ultimately a webbased syncing and sharing option is the best convenience we should offer to our pilots.

A short term improvement could be to add a "Import dhm file" dialog which allows you to browse for and open a dhm file.

That's what I thought : old fashionned... PC user habits !
Good idea to add a "Import dhm file" dialog,

Very good idea, but seek why all the file explorers are not supported.

Do not underestimate the need for this. Using tablet and phone on my drone, buying new devices, back to factory settings... every 6 months there is a need for this

Yes, please use Gdrive for backup. Right now, the interface and manual is to minimalistic. Please add a 'browse' button.
I am having problems restoring my saved files from my google account. Is this option blocked during the 30-days trial?

No, you cannot. DHM extension is not linked to Drone Harmony on my OnePlus6. Cannot find a way to re-link
